Barcelona to make an emergency signing for Real Sociedad forward due to Dembele's long spell injury


Dembele ruled out for six months due to torn hamstring


Barcelona Forward Dembele has been ruled out on a long season spell due to injury after undergoing an operation on his torn hamstring.


The Barcelona star on Tuesday secures a six months injury in Finland.

'Ousmane Dembele has undergone many operations by the Lasse Lempainen which are satisfactorily in Turku, in regard to dislocation on his hamstring in his right leg,'

Barcelona said in a statement that it will take a maximum of six months for the player to recover well.

The La Liga Outfit will be pushed to make an emergency signing to replace him provided the Spanish football federation (RFEF) ratifies the issue on Dembele's medical report.

According to RFEF rules and regulations, if a player is out injured for at least five months, the club can sign another player to replace him outside a transfer window, as long as they are based in Spain's top two divisions or they are free agents.

The Spanish giant has been linked to Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose by Sports Bank media.

This is the 10th injury Dembele has secured since arriving at Barca from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for a world record fee of 105 million euros.

The former Dortmund player missed five months of his debut season due to a hamstring injury and has only made five starts for his club in  all competitions
