The Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has set up another great record in his football career as a Juventus player.

The Juventus man has overtaken his country-man Rui Costa to take-up the leading Portuguese scorer in the Serie A history after the match on Monday.


After the Serie A star manage to find the back of the net with his penalty kick against Bologna, a result that makes the Serie A giant move on a four-point clear above the second team in the Serie A league table.

The goal against Bologna was Ronaldo's 22 goal in this Serie A season, adding one more goal to what He scored last season after completing a move from the Spanish giants Real Madrid last two season.

After reaching 43 goals in Italian football, Cristiano Ronaldo has beat Rui Costa to become the leading Portuguese player with most goals in the Serie A league.

Rui Costa spent eight years of his football career in Serie A, playing for Fiorentina and Milan in 1994 and 2006 respectively.


The 35-year-old Portuguese player still remains the top Portuguese goal scorer in the premier league history with 84 goals in 196 appearances for Manchester United.

The former Real Madrid star is also the leading Portuguese goal scorer in La Liga history and has recorded 311 goals in 292 appearances for Real Madrid, where he still won the all-time gaol leading goal scorer.

Only the Barcelona god Lionel Messi has been the only player in football history to have more La Liga goals than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former Manchester United player has been heavily criticized after he missed a penalty against Milan in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia and also having a performance issue with impact on the pitch in the final match against Napoli.


According to Luca Toni, the former Italy international, Ronaldo's performance in the last four Serie A game was nothing but 'average' Toni told Rai Sports after the Milan match, 'the whole Juventus player was in great difficulty, even Ronaldo, who look like other players in the pitch, the match was very slow.'

'We expected him to perform the way he uses to be but he was just like other players on the pitch, he seems to have some physical difficulties in the field - he couldn't even pass one player with his dribbling skills.'

The match against the Bologna ended in 2-0 in favor of the Juventus club and they are now seated comfortably on the first position in the league table.
