Three things that make Frank Lampard lose his "3rd Position" against West Ham

Three things that make Frank Lampard lose his "3rd Position" against West Ham

Chealse was defeated 3-2 by West Ham by the late Andriy Yarmolenko strike.

The Blues last night missed their chance to overtake Leicester City to go to the third position the premier league with a win over West Ham after been defeated in the last minutes of the game.

West Han went 1-0 up by a header from Tomas Soucek from an almost carbon-copy corner kick which was taken moments before, which resulted in the net to smile although the was ruled out by VAR controversially.

After some minutes before half time, Chelsea conceded a penalty which was well converted by Willian. With just two minutes left for the game to go on halftime, the Hammers converted their second corner kick into a nice goal.

Shortly after the break, West ham started leading the scoreline 2-1 with a goal by Michail Antonio. It was Chelsea forward Williams that also level the game with a fantastic free-kick some meter from the 18-years box.

However, as Chelsea struggle for another goal in other to secure the three points, they were caught on the break by late Andriy Yarmolenko strike in the 90mins of the game.

But Where did Chelsea coach Frank Lampard get it wrong?

If Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are the best combinations in Chelsea's defenders going into the final handful of matches, they can forget their dream of making the Premier League top four.

They would have done more better putting out some training cones - if that was done, they could have had the chance of stopping the West Ham strikes.

For all the three goals conceded by the Blues, the two defenders proved utterly useless while throughout the contest they showed some defensive skills that even Laurel and Hardy would laugh at.

On the other hand, Tammy Abraham was the worst mistake Chelsea boss made, starting the attacker was a very clear wrong choice for a match like that.

The Hammers where very excited to defend for large quantities of the game and the Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham does not show the qualities that are needed to beat the West ham low-block.

He either missing in the game or crowded out by the defenders, heavy-footed or offside - and really Olivier Giroud should have been a better option than him to start the game.

However, Chelsea manager Lampard did not put the Frenchman on time in the game that was one of his mistakes - perhaps a feeling of sympathetic which he showed on Leicester match after hauling off three players at half-time?

It is very simple, any side that dreams of going to Champions League should not be starting Alonso in the left-back.

He is woefully inadept at the back position - No defensive skill, he can not run and he barely possesses any actual footballing ability.

This is not the first or the second time the Spanish international has been caught out at his position and will not be the last of the Chelsea coach continues to choose him.
