Due to flu, Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did not play against Sheffield United.

The Athletic announced ahead of Sunday's Premier League match that Aubameyang was suffering from flu and would not be able to play.

Before the game, the 31-year-old striker sent out an Instagram message wishing his teammates luck and expressing his hope to be back in action on Thursday evening.

Arsenal beat Sheffield United 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday without Aubameyang, but getting the striker on the bench against Slavia will be huge for the Gunners.

As one would imagine, Arsenal fans hope that Aubameyang recovers from the flu in time for the game, but as seen below, some North London club supporters do not believe he is needed.

Given how disappointing Aubameyang has been this season – according to WhoScored, he has scored seven Premier League goals and three in the Europa League – some Arsenal fans may believe that the team is better off without him, particularly after Gabriel Martinelli and Alexandre Lacazette both scored against the Blades.
