Gabriel Martinelli sends message to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta

Gabriel Martinelli has stated that he is ready to take on a more frequent starting role for Arsenal.

The 19-year-old has had few first-team chances at The Emirates this season, with just seven Premier League starts to his name.

Martinelli scored off the bench in Arsenal's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night, complementing Nicolas Pepe's two goals.

The young forward will now be hoping to win and keep a more consistent place in the first team at The Emirates in the coming months in order to help Arsenal have a more fruitful season next season.

Martinelli has now confirmed that he is able to play more frequently for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

“I'm still prepared; if Mikel needs me, I'll be there, and I'll have to come on and score a goal.

“It's not easy [not starting on a regular basis], but as I've said before, I'm still prepared.

“We have brilliant players, and we believe in the Europa League, so we must fight, and we have one more game, so we must go there and try to beat them.”

Arsenal, who have not won the Premier League title since 2004, will play Brighton and Hove Albion at home in their final game of the season on Sunday.
