Gary Neville tips Man United to sign 21-year-old this summer

Gary Neville weighs in on whether Manchester United will strike a deal to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.

This summer, the Red Devils are expected to be linked with a slew of players as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

Manchester United was closely linked with a bid for Dortmund's Sancho last summer, but a deal for the England international fell through.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United will return and rekindle their interest in the 21-year-old as they look to improve their squad for the upcoming season.

Former Manchester United star Neville predicts that the Red Devils will renew their interest in Sancho and that a number of players will be let go this summer.

Neville said on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, "I think if you look at the strategy at Manchester United over the last couple of years under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, I don't think they can sign another striker."

“I don't have the inside contacts I used to have, so that's my guess because they've been desperate for Sancho.

“Take a look at Manchester United's recruitment last summer; they were chastised for failing to sign Sancho. But it might be extremely wise if they can get him this year for half the price after waiting a year.

“I believe Juan Mata, who has done a great job for the club, will leave. I believe that if they can get a decent price for Daniel James, he would be able to go somewhere else.

“There's a feeling that Jesse Lingard – he's done very well at West Ham – will go somewhere, but I think Ole will say no and we'll get money for Jesse Lingard.”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Thursday, as they face Liverpool FC.

When the Red Devils face Villarreal in the Europa League final at the end of the month, they will be looking to win their first major trophy under Solskjaer.
