"He'd get the No.7 shirt" - Exclusive: Pundit backs Man Utd to make "dream" 46-goal beast swoop

The editor-in-chief of getting German Football News, Daniel Pinder, has exclusively told This is Futbol that Jadon Sancho will return Manchester United to the elite stage.

United refused to sign the England international a year ago because they were unable to reach Borussia Dortmund's £100 million asking price for the 21-year-old.

However, with United aiming to close the gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, Sancho is expected to pique United's attention again this summer.

Sancho has continued to put up impressive numbers in Germany, scoring 12 goals and dishing out 18 assists in 34 appearances, but his efforts might not be enough to keep Dortmund in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc announced that a gentleman's agreement has been placed in place to allow Sancho, who has 46 goals in 133 games for Dortmund, to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer, and Pinder believes the former City youngster may be the man to get United competing for major honors once again.

I believe that if Sancho were to join the team, he would immediately take over the starting role. Even at 21, he has a lot of experience, and he could help Greenwood improve and play well in a front three with him and Rashford.

“Sancho playing for Manchester United will be a massive boost on and off the field in terms of what he would add to the squad and the merchandise. There's no doubt he'd get the number seven jersey, and signing Sancho would be a dream come true for any United fan.

“With a few defensive signings, Sancho will return Manchester United to the elite level.”
