Man Utd end Jadon Sancho interest as Solskjaer targets Dortmund midfield sensation instead

Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in signing Jadon Sancho this summer and will instead pursue one of his Borussia Dortmund teammates.

The Red Devils have been interested in England winger Jadon Sancho for some time, and prolific striker Erling Haaland has also been on their radar in recent months.

However, BILD reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prefers a summer swoop for young midfielder Jude Bellingham.

“At the moment, there is nothing on Sancho's interest at United; in reality, a move is unlikely. What's the reason? Christian Falk told BILD, "Jude Bellingham." “Dortmund already has a substitute for Sancho and will therefore sell him.

“The English are now actually concentrating on Bellingham.”

Bellingham will transfer to Dortmund from Birmingham in July 2020 for a fee of around £20 million. Since making the move, he has established himself as a regular starter in the Bundesliga and has also performed admirably in the Champions League.

The 17-year-old also appears to be a lock to be named to England's squad for the postponed Euro 2020 tournament.

Bellingham was an appealing target for United and Solskjaer due to his ability to play many midfield positions and consistently perform at a high level despite his young age.

Signing a central striker was thought to be at the top of Solskjaer's priority list this summer. However, with the evergreen, Edinson Cavani looking to prolong his stay at Old Trafford, the Red Devils manager should concentrate on strengthening his defense and midfield instead.
