‘MUST HAVE AN INJURY’: KEOWN THINKS ANOTHER ARSENAL PLAYER’S INJURED IN POTENTIALLY MAJOR BLOW

Martin Keown of BT Sport has speculated that Arsenal could have sustained another injury blow after Bukayo Saka was taken off last night.

Mikel Arteta substituted Martin Odegaard for Saka in the 64th minute, just after Palace had equalized.

The Arsenal youngster did not seem to be suffering from a serious illness.

Saka, on the other hand, had been a bright spark in Arsenal's team up until that point.

And Keown believes the only reason Arteta would have taken the 20-year-old off the field is due to a fitness issue.

“One assumes Saka must have an injury or some form of problem,” he said shortly after Saka was removed.

Arteta did not say if his substitution was for tactical or fitness purposes after the game.

His substitution had an impact, as Arsenal went on to win the game 3-1, with Odegaard assisting Gabriel Martinelli's goal.

However, if Saka has taken a knock, Arsenal could suffer a significant setback.

The youngster has been one of their most promising players this season, and his absence on the final day of the season will be a major setback.

Arsenal has battled their way back into European contention, but they must defeat Brighton & Hove Albion on the final day of the season to have some chance of qualifying.

If Saka is unavailable, their chances of success will suffer, and their attacking play will suffer as a result.
