Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes make predictions for Man Utd vs Villarreal final

Manchester United has been tipped by Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves, and Paul Scholes to win the Europa League final against Villarreal.

The Red Devils advanced to their first final under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after defeating Serie A side Roma 8-5 on aggregate in an exciting semi-final tie. Meanwhile,

Villarreal secured a spot in the May 26 final with a 2-1 victory over Arsenal, as Unai Emery exacted revenge on his former club.

‘If Manchester United show up and play somewhere near their best, they win the game hands down, possibly by a couple of goals,' Ferdinand said after the Europa League finalists were announced.

'They've got players in there who have already dominated this competition.' Unai Emery has the experience, but some of the Manchester United players on the field have also been there and done it.

‘Listen, I don't see it as a major issue for Manchester United. But it's a final, and the players won't see it that way.

They will understand the importance of proper preparation, concentration, and completion of the task.' Hargreaves said, 'Unai Emery is on the verge of having the trophy named after him, given how many times he's earned it.'

‘With Unai's experience and Villarreal's abundance of goal scorers, it will be a difficult game.'

Manchester United, on the other hand, is the favorite. They have the best team, with the most talented players.

If players like Bruno [Fernandes], Edinson Cavani, and Paul Pogba show up, they should be able to finish the job.'

Scholes, who won 11 Premier League titles and the Champions League twice while at Manchester United, said: 'I agree with Owen.' I haven't seen much of Villarreal, but their teams do have goals.

With Unai Emery's track record in the competition, it's difficult to go against him, but United have found some real form at the right time.

I believe they will win with the team they have.' Emery, a former Arsenal boss, won the Europa League three years in a row from 2014 to 2016, before leading the Gunners to the final in 2019, where they were defeated by Chelsea.

Manchester United won the Europa League for the first time under Jose Mourinho in 2017, and the club will be hoping to lift the cup for the first time under Solskjaer later this month.
