Chelsea will face Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, aiming to earn a good result and advance to the UEFA Champions League finals.

On Saturday, the Blues beat Fulham 2-0, while Los Blancos beat Osasuna 2-0 in La Liga.

Thomas Tuchel will most likely stick with the 3-4-3 formation from the previous game. Cesar Azpilicueta could be preferred over Andreas Christensen, while Jorginho is expected to return to the starting lineup.

For the upcoming home game, Edouard Mendy will start between the posts. On Wednesday, the Senegalese goalkeeper will look to put in a good performance and keep a clean sheet.

According to Thomas Tuchel, Antonio Rudiger should be available to start in midweek.

“Toni was injured in the final seconds of the Madrid game. I am optimistic about (him being available) on Wednesday.” – The German strategist revealed.

As a result, Thiago Silva is expected to start at the heart of the Blues' defense, while Antonio Rudiger could fill in at left center-back. Cesar Azpilicueta will fill the right center-back spot.

Their main goal, however, will be to keep Karim Benzema quiet for the entire 90 minutes.

N'Golo Kante and Jorginho will fill the holding midfield roles, with the former taking on a more central role. The duo would like to win the midfield battle.

Thomas Tuchel, on the other hand, revealed that Mateo Kovacic had a minor setback in preparation.

“We've had a minor setback with him.” – Tuchel explained.

“I don't want to be too pessimistic. Let us wait to see how he feels tomorrow.”

Ben Chilwell will play left wing-back, with Reece James filling in on the opposite flank as a right wing-back.

Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic will play in the defensive midfield positions. The pair will be determined to create clear-cut scoring opportunities for the forwards.

Kai Havertz will lead the home side's attack against Real Madrid. Last week, the German international scored twice against Fulham, and he'll be looking to do the same against Zinedine Zidane's guys.

Timo Werner could make a brief cameo appearance in the second 45 minutes.
