Tuchel has ‘fallen in love’ with Haaland alternative – Chelsea manager wants ‘polished striker’ at club

If Chelsea cannot sign Erling Haaland this summer, Thomas Tuchel has fallen in love with Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku and wants to introduce him to the club.

According to BILD journalist Christian Falk, Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho is aware that signing Haaland, his dream signing, would be difficult this summer.

The Blues are rumored to be looking for a new center forward ahead of next season, with Timo Werner struggling after his big-money move from RB Leipzig last year.

Haaland is thought to be at the top of the list, but there is fierce competition for his services, and he has indicated that he would prefer to join one of the other clubs over Chelsea.

If that's the case, they'll have to look elsewhere, and one name that's come up lately is Romelu Lukaku, who has 21 goals and eight assists in 32 Serie A games this season.

He did, after all, play for Chelsea earlier in his career but struggled to make an impact, and according to Falk, Tuchel is willing to give him another chance.

He told BILD, "This is a clear true and for a simple reason."

“We've already announced it, and it seems that our island colleagues are keeping an eye on things.

“But we've said it with reservations, and it'll depend on how things go with Haaland, who is Tuchel's dream signing, despite the fact that he knows it'll be difficult to pull off.

“He still has to get Dortmund to sell, which they don't want to do.

“As a result, he needs a polished alternative striker, and he has fallen in love with Lukaku, who is the player he desires.”
