'Better than Haaland!' - Chelsea fans all say the same thing as latest summer deal is announced

Chelsea has announced that promising striker Armando Borja has signed a new five-year contract with the club, but some Blues fans have seized the event to vent their discontent in a mocking manner.

Chelsea has had a difficult start to the summer transfer season in terms of bringing in new players.

The Blues, who will fly to Ireland for a pre-season training camp on Tuesday, have yet to add a single player to their first-team squad this summer, meaning head coach Thomas Tuchel has yet to make a single signing since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in January.

Although Chelsea is working hard behind the scenes to bring in new recruits, grievances from some supporters are beginning to surface, with some anxiety about the lack of fresh additions.

However, it is vital to remember that Chelsea is pursuing deals for players worth more than £100 million, including West Ham United's Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland.

This summer, Haaland is at the top of Chelsea's wish list, with the west London club anxious to bolster their offensive ranks with a new out-and-out striker.

Despite the fact that Tuchel has failed to add a new striker to his roster this summer, he has seen the club successfully lock down one of their most promising prospects, young striker Armando Broja, to a new deal.

The 19-year-old has signed a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2026.

Broja told the club's website after committing his future to the Blues, "I am incredibly excited to be signing a new contract with Chelsea."

"Having come through the Academy here, making my first-team debut last year was a wonderful occasion for me, before earning more experience on loan at Vitesse last season."

I want to build on these foundations, and I am excited to improve and make an influence at Chelsea in the next years."

While signing Broja to a new long-term contract is a huge boost for Chelsea, some Blues fans have reacted to the news in a lighthearted, joyful manner.

That's because, in response to Chelsea's announcement of Broja's new contract, a number of Blues fans have stated that Broja is a better player than Haaland.

It is evident that those statements were made in jest, implying that they are growing irritated with the Blues' pursuit of the Dortmund striker and had wanted to see his arrival at Stamford Bridge announced instead.

As evidenced by the messages above, numerous Blues fans believe Broja is a better player than Haaland. While some of the individuals who have made the admission may have meant it sincerely, it is more likely that such comments were made with a sense of mockery.

It is no secret that Chelsea is anxious to sign Haaland this summer, but any deal for the Norwegian ace is proving difficult due to Dortmund's determination not to lose him.

Nonetheless, some Chelsea fans appear to be growing frustrated and want the club to sign the striker as soon as possible, judging by the remarks in response to Broja's new contract.

Dortmund is on the verge of collecting a £73 million windfall from the sale of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, which means they are not under as much pressure to sell Haaland in order to shore up their finances.
